I was at Burbank Airport. My airplane was already outside. That’s when I opened my notebook computer and saw an email from one of our customers. A client sent us a small web design job. I was on my vacation, but this job was something I could do very quick. I didn’t want to bother my co-workers. My coworkers are better at programming (geeks). I’m the one who can do web design tasks fast, so…
I started to work on the job with my notebook computer as people started to get on board. My family members started to call my name. I was running out of time, but I knew I could pull this off. Suspense was killing me, but it was fun to work against clock like this. I felt like I was in a movie, dismantling a bomb. Finally, the job was completed, I sent an email to the customer, and I shut down my computer.
As I walk through the gate, I checked email with my iPod one last time and saw this message. (pic. below)
I was happy to receive this email. I felt like I just saved the world with my web design skill. I told my family members about what I just did. I told them that my customer was impressed at me. But, they were too busy getting on the airplane. They didn’t seem to care.
I don’t play video games. Web design is plenty fun. I seldom work under this kind of time constraint. And I enjoy that stress.
Anyway, I was satisfied. It was going to be a cool vacation. Bing~!
I shot a video with my pocket camera as we were leaving Burbank (sorry, no audio).
